Drink Del's and Keep Shopping

The humidity in Rhode Island is a plague--it is actually repulsive and lethal...

For people with curly hair.

The two times I managed to go to the beach with the family, we had gone late afternoon, so it wasn't unbearable by 3:00 pm. Drinking Del's and Trenta-sized Starbucks doesn't hurt either.

There are some great new arrivals at work--Crosswynds Traders, KC Shoes and Laura Jean Denim Shop--definitely worth checking out and trying on.

Nothing beats a Del's on the beach in the summer
This a Trenta Green Tea Iced Tea Lemonade. Trenta is the next size after Venti. And yes, such a thing does exist, it's not a myth.

I cracked at KC Shoes... I had to get this bag. It was the last one there.
Laura Jean Denim Shop got this new Sky top in with a turquoise halter (left) and it would look great with the Joe's Jeans white shorts.
Skinny silk coated pants by Paige and an edgy floral top by Sanctuary, both available at Laura Jean Denim Shop
Crosswynds Traders got these shoes in last week, I'm really tempted to get the black and canvas pair.
Studded sweatshirts at Crosswynds Traders... Coolest loungewear ever, perfect for the dorm.
Crop tops at Crosswynds Traders, just what about every girl needs in this humidity
An excerpt from Alice in Wonderland on the back of the teapot: "There was a table out under a tree, and the March Hare and the Hatter were having tea; a Dormouse sat between them, fast asleep. The table was large, but they were all crowded together at one corner. 'No room!' they cried out when they saw Alice coming. 'There's plenty of room!' she said indignantly, and she sat down at the table."

Narragansett: Stay-At-Home Funday Monday

I have been enjoying a few "stay-at-home fundays" and I am not about to complain about it. I did leave the house for a little bit to run small errands--getting the February 2013 issue of InStyle and a Starbucks--but there's only one more week to take advantage of the repose.

My spring semester internship at Gossip in Wickford is in the process of being finalized and I can't wait to get started!

I'm almost done with the Masters of Style documentary series--I watched the episodes on Jean Paul Gaultier and Valentino today.

Newport/Narragansett: The Final Stretch of the Fall Semester

The past week and a half was filled with cramming, meetings, and papers--not to mention the all-nighter I pulled last night/this morning to finish a 14 page research paper. I've been so tired and been so robotic, that I don't want to do anything anymore! There is only one more week of finals resting between me and Christmas break.

Just to touch base, here are a few snapshots of the past week:

Got my Starbucks gold card :)

Someone at work brought their dog one day, because she was feeling very lonely. Annie's the sweetest!

My mother's birthday is today! Happy Birthday, Mom!

Remember to always keep calm and carry on--wish me luck this week!

Narragansett: Catching Up on the Couch

I have not blogged about daily stuff for the past few days, because I have not done anything terribly interesting. It has just been the usual routine: working out, watching the Olympics and Netflix documentaries, reading Jane Eyre, and checking out other fashion blogs.

On Thursday, I did have a job interview in Newport and will hear back on Monday. Fingers crossed, everything went well! Early evening, we went to Nana's and celebrated her birthday.

Friday I stayed in, trying to finish Jane Eyre.

Yesterday was the massive rain storm that tore through Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. There were tornado and flood warnings--I took a short video of the downpour my mom and I drove in.

And like Friday, today was another lazy day.

I got to Newport early before my job interview so I could take some pictures.

Nana's cake-- I forget the name of what the type of cake is, but it was like angel food cake and strawberries with light whipped frosting.

The rainstorm

I love this edition of Jane Eyre illustrated by Ruben Toledo--if only all books could look this fashionable.

Oxford, Day 26: Last Day of Classes

This trip has flown by so fast--today was the last day of classes. I had coffee with one friend who was going to Ireland for the weekend before class and indulged in a Starbucks on High Street.

In Shakespeare, we watched a movie interpretation of Twelfth Night (1996) which featured a star-studded cast:

Helena Bonham Carter (Olivia)- Harry Potter series as Bellatrix Lestrange, Alice in Wonderland
Steven Mackintosh (Sebastian)- Underworld
Sir Ben Kingsley (Feste)- The Wackness, Shutter Island, Hugo
Imelda Staunton (Maria)- Harry Potter series as Dolores Umbridge

During Literature of Shakespeare, we walked to the University Parks, the Bodleian Library, the King's Arms, and Keble College Chapel. The bittersweet thing was that the trip came to full circle by revisiting the same places we went the same day we came to Oxford.

Then, the university held a farewell dinner for the students.

I am not ready to say goodbye just yet.

The class stopped in the King's Arms for a bit to wait out the rain--our professor was kind enough to buy us popcorn  as an afternoon snack.

The class went here the other day, but since I  did not have cash on me then, finally got one today--a small KitKat and Nutella milkshake. Perfection,
