Interpreter of Maladies (1999)Written by Jhumpa Lahiri
Lahiri describes different lives of Indians who live in the home country and those who immigrated and deal with the sense of belonging to both India and America. Each story presents real life situations--divorce, disease, discovery-- that makes it easy for the reader to relate to. You can see why it earned the Pulitzer Prize.
