Voir Un Film: Dinner for Schmucks

Dinner for Schmucks (2010)
Directed by Jay Roach

"Takes one to know one."

Tim works in finance as a mid-level executive and hopes to be promoted. When the opportunity presents itself, Tim must acquire a potential/wealthy client... and find an idiot to bring to a dinner that Saturday. It turns out that Tim's superiors hold this dinner as a tradition and make fun of their "special" guests. Julie, Tim's girlfriend, wants him to turn down this absurd and cruel invitation, but Tim knows that one night made of such idiocies is worth going through for his promotion.

That changes when Tim runs into Barry. Like Tim literally hits Barry with his Porsche. Barry is an IRS agent who enjoys dressing up dead mice. What could be anymore ridiculous than that?

There are parts of the movie I found myself frustrated and angry at Barry for being unbelievably stupid, but the feeling didn't last too long. A very creative comedy that will have you laughing out loud.

**This film was based off Le Diner de Cons a French play written by Francis Veber
