Wilton: "GTN" (Gym, Tea, and Nails)

It has been a while since I have been in Wilton.

As usual.

Since most of our relatives live in Rhode Island and I now go to university in Rhode Island, we spend a solid chunk of time in Rhode Island. When we are in Wilton, we hit up the gym and Robeks, then run a ton of errands before running back to (you guessed it) Rhode Island...

We did go to the gym and Robeks and take care of the long, laundry list of errands, but we are preparing to visit relatives in Virginia.

In light of reclaiming the beach body that I lost while in Oxford--the daily push-ups and crunches eventually succumbed to Digestives, les pains au chocolats, and tomato, basil, mozzarella paninis--I made a Pinterest board to inspire me to work out. It is titled "Do Your Bodywork" in honor of the single "Bodywork" by Morgan Page feat. Tegan and Sara.

I guess the term emerging for fitness inspiration found on blogs and social media like Tumblr and Pinterest is called fitspo?

I also pinned a few pictures of Victoria's Secret models on "Do Your Bodywork." I cannot decide if doing so will work for or against me: it will inspire me to get a great body, but it may be disappointing if my torso does not look exactly like Miranda Kerr's.

Oh well. It cannot hurt to give it a go.

By the way, today is Alice Day, which celebrates the anniversary of the telling of Alice in Wonderland. This year marks the 150th year of the story. I was not able to properly celebrate with a "Mad Hatter" afternoon high tea, but I managed to pour a cup of tea in honor of Lewis Carroll's wonderful fiction. Oh Frabjous Day!

Every time I get my nails done here, it rains without fail.

Catching up on summer trends
New Shanghai Cafe is my favorite place for Chinese food in town. Even though it is right off of the main road, it is always quiet. It is a great place to sit down and have a meal and it never takes more than 15 minutes for takeout.

Mom's hydrangea plant. It doubled in size since we got it last year.

The Jabberwocky

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

All mimsy were the borogoves,

And the mome raths outgrabe.

'Beware the Jabberwock, my son!

The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!

Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun

The frumious Bandersnatch!'

He took his vorpal sword in hand:

Long time the manxome foe he sought --

So rested he by the Tumtum tree,

And stood a while in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,

The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,

Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,

And burbled as it came!

One two! One two! And through and through

The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!

He left it dead, and with its head

He went galumphing back.

'And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?

Come to my arms, my beamish boy!

Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'

He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:

All mimsy were the borogoves,

And the mome raths outgrabe.
